This website was written by and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, Elders, advisors, professionals and Indigenous owned and operated businesses to provide culturally appropriate information, support, strength, and healing for mob with cancer.

  The Leadership Group provides strategic advice and guidance to assist Cancer Australia in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cancer control.

• Cartymara Consulting

  Founded by Katrina Johnson, a proud Gooreng Gooreng woman who was raised on her ancestral lands (Bundaberg, QLD) under the leadership of my family and Elders, Cartymara Consulting uses a rights-based approach to empower others in pursuing economic parity, cultural affirmation, and self-determination for First Nations' peoples.

  Dreamtime Creative is a specialist in culturally appropriate communications. They strive to create equity, opportunity and empowerment for diverse groups. Their work with Cancer Australia included developing a unique culturally appropriate brand including Indigenous artwork as well as a range of illustrations and templates.

  Gilimbaa is a 100%-Indigenous-owned, full-service creative agency founded in 2008, specialising in developing culturally relevant and engaging design and content for and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and connecting resources to communities in effective and empowering ways.

• Jordan Lovegrove

  Jordan Lovegrove is a Ngarrindjeri artist who creates artworks for Dreamtime Creative’s clients.

  Jordan created the beautiful and symbolic ‘Our Journeys’ artwork for Cancer Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander brand, and has illustrated a number of Cancer Australia’s resources for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people about cancer.

• ResearchCrowd

  ResearchCrowd is a small Indigenous research agency backed by a big crowd. Led by Gamilaroi-Cypriot blood sisters, Dr Catherine Demosthenous and Dr Hellene Demosthenous, we assisted Cancer Australia by focus testing the website content and creative concepts with groups of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from across Australia.

• Our Mob and Cancer Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Expert Reference Group

  Members of the Expert Reference Group Included Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cancer consumers and communications professionals, clinicians, representatives from the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Research Groups.

Led by Gamilaroi-Cypriot blood sisters, Dr Catherine Demosthenous and Dr Hellene Demosthenous, we specialise in culturally informed, evidenced-based research and evaluation. We  understand, measure and create change that works.

  

• Riki Salam

  Born and raised in Cairns on Yidindji land, Riki has connections to Muralag, Kala Lagaw Ya, Meriam Mer, Kuku Yalanji peoples on his father’s side and the Ngai Tahu people in the South Island of New Zealand on his mother’s side. Riki is an artist and graphic designer and is the digital designer of the Our Mob and Cancer website.
